Sometimes, the baseball gods feel the need to show their power. Tuesday night they did just that during a game between the Gary South Shore RailCats and the Sioux City Explorers.

In the top of the third inning, Explorers shortstop Leguim Barroso knocked what looked like a routine groundball toward second base. The baseball gods had other plans, though, as the ball caromed off of second base and high into the air. RailCats shortstop Zac Mitchell leaped into the air and gloved the ball, then sent the throw to first base in plenty of time for the out.
