Milwaukee Misspelled as ‘Milwakuee’ on Ron Roenicke’s Negro League Throwback Uniform (Photo)

Either Milwaukee was spelled differently in 1923, or someone made a typo on Ron Roenicke‘s jersey. We’ll guess the latter.

The Brewers and Marlins were suited up in uniforms honoring the Negro Leagues on Saturday. The Brewers were donning 1923 Milwaukee Bears uniforms, while the Marlins were wearing 1956-60 original Miami Marlins uniforms with a Satchel Paige patch. Roenicke’s jersey, however, said “Milwakuee,” rather than Milwaukee.

Since our profession knows something about the occasional typo, we’ll let this error pass. Surely whoever made the mistake wishes they had done it on the bench coach’s uniform, rather than the more high profile manager’s.
