Nike Prints Wrong Carolina on Panthers Shirt, Pulls Product After Realizing Mistake (Photo)

No matter how you spin it, Nike got this one plain wrong.

The company produced a Carolina Panthers shirt that featured the team’s logo and “NC” inside of a drawn-out North Carolina. However, for any geography buffs out there, the outline on the shirt was actually of South Carolina. Aside from their inaugural season, which they kicked off in Clemson, S.C., the Panthers have played every home game in Charlotte, N.C.

Nike announced Tuesday that the flawed shirt was being removed from the market, according to ESPN.

“A small quantity of incorrect Carolina Panthers T-shirts were recently made available for sale,” Nike spokesman Brian Strong said. “The product should not have been sold. We have removed it from sale and apologize for the error.”

While the blunder is laughable, the fourth grade teachers of the country probably feel differently. Don’t worry, though. They’re not mad, just disappointed.
