Phillies Fans Attempt to Trick Hunter Pence on Twitter, Tell Giants Outfielder He’s Been Traded to Boston

Rumors and speculation are expected during the final days of the trade deadline. A collective effort to fool a player into thinking he was traded, however, is a bit more unconventional.

While names and teams were being thrown around late Tuesday night, one Phillies fan took it upon himself to start a movement convincing San Francisco Giants outfielder, Hunter Pence, that he was traded to the Red Sox.

The tweets gained enough traction to eventually force the former Phillies outfielder to address the completely false reports.
