SkydiverThat whole getting-smeared-by-a-skydiver thing was funny — well, except that somebody actually got hurt.

Hannibal Cavemen infielder Mattingly Romanin‘s season is done after a skydiver delivering the game ball to Saturday’s game gave him a concussion, the Quincy Herald-Whig reports via Yahoo! Sports.

Romanin also had a concussion this spring, so the team opted to sit him for the last 18 games of the season to be safe.

“It’s unfortunate that it ended my season, and I’m a little upset about that, but you know what, it’s just a freak accident, and there’s nothing we can do now,” Romanin said, according to the Quincy Herald-Whig. “So I’m still trying to be upbeat [about] it, and I’m still laughing with everybody.”
