Back in May, we reported on Ray Lewis‘ intention to climb Mount Kilimanjaro — the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. The trip was said to benefit clean water projects in Africa, but adding another charitable cause on top certainly doesn’t hurt, right?
Lewis and his entourage — which includes former Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris and Doug Pitt, goodwill ambassador to Tanzania and brother of Brad Pitt — were set to begin their ascent Wednesday, according to USA Today. However, before starting the climb, the team partnered with the Starkey Foundation to give hearing aids to local hearing-impaired children.
