Alex RodriguezOn Tuesday, a report emerged that Major League Baseball is preparing to suspend as many as 20 players after the All-Star break for their involvement with the Biogenesis clinic and performance-enhancing drugs. However, the league still isn’t even done interviewing individual players, and it looks like Alex Rodriguez may finally be next in line.

MLB has already interviewed 10 players, including former MVP Ryan Braun, as part of its investigation into the Miami anti-aging clinic, and all have refused to answer questions relating to Biogenesis, according to the New York Daily News. Rodrigez, meanwhile, is set to meet with the league — and likely also refuse to answer questions — in Tampa, Fla., on Friday.

“If I knew, I couldn’t share with you guys,” Rodriguez said Tuesday after a Single-A rehab game. “We’ve been fully instructed not to comment on that case.”

MLB will not announce suspensions before the All-Star Game at Citi Field but will do so some time before the end of the season, according to the report. The league is said to have “ample evidence” that Rodriguez used PEDs after 2003, but Rodriguez also has a “hefty defense.”
