Dwight HowardIn Los Angeles, it’s pretty much impossible to stay in just one medium. If you’re an actor, you probably want to be a singer. If you’re a singer, you probably want to do theater. Even when David Beckham signed with the L.A. Galaxy, part of the appeal for the British soccer star was supposedly the acting opportunities it would afford him and his wife.

So, we submit to you this: Dwight Howard, reality TV star?

Howard has already had preliminary talks with Time Warner Cable about starring in a reality TV show, according to ESPN’s Arash Markazi. The cable giant is supposedly desperate for original programming, but it’s unknown exactly what the angle on a show starring Howard would be.

According to the report, the talks are contingent on Howard staying with the Lakers and in Los Angeles. As Markazi points out, that could actually give the Lakers an advantage as teams begin to compete for the NBA’s premier center.

As of 12 a.m. ET on Monday, teams were allowed to begin courting free agents, and Howard has already met with the Houston Rockets. The Lakers, at their request, will be the last team to make their pitch to Howard.
