It’s the NBA offseason, which means Nate Robinson is probably finding a new team.
The NBA journeyman has agreed to sign a two-year, $4 million contract with the Denver Nuggets, according to USA Today. The Nuggets will sign Robinson using their biannual exception, and the deal will include a player option in the second year.
Denver will be Robinson’s sixth different team in the last four years after short stints with the Knicks, Celtics, Thunder, Warriors and Bulls.
The three-time NBA Slam Dunk champion had a productive season filling in for injured Chicago star Derrick Rose, averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 assists for the Bulls last season. He also carried the Bulls to the Eastern Conference semifinals, averaging 16.3 points and 4.4 assists during the playoff run.
Although Robinson was probably expecting a more lucrative offer after a solid postseason performance, his new contract with the Nuggets gives him a slight pay raise from his NBA veteran’s minimum last year. The 29-year-old should be a solid fit in the Nuggets’ fast-paced offense alongside point guards Ty Lawson and Andre Miller.
