Tim Tebow, Aaron Hernandez, William Green, Josh EvansTim Tebow wasn’t able to keep Aaron Hernandez out of trouble during their brief time together as teammates with the Patriots, but the famous backup quarterback tried to play peacemaker while the two were at the University of Florida.

In 2007, Hernandez punched a restaurant employee in the head, rupturing the man’s eardrum. The two fought after Hernandez allegedly refused to pay for two alcoholic drinks that were brought to and consumed by Hernandez, who was just 17 years old at the time. Tebow was listed as a witness in the incident’s police report.

“Tebow stated that he witnessed the dispute,” the officer wrote at the time, according to the Orlando Sentinel. “… Tebow stated that he went over to try to help resolve the conflict.”

Tebow told police that he tried to make Hernandez leave peacefully. Tebow also said he tried to solve the dispute by arranging to pay for the drinks.
