Torii Hunter BlendWell, add this one to the list of bizarre baseball injuries.

Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter left Thursday night’s game against the White Sox after an Achilles injury had been nagging him all game. How did he get the injury, you ask? His dress shoes were a wee bit too tight, according to CBS Detroit.

“I’ll be fine tomorrow. Just a little sore,” Hunter said. “I played through it the whole game. It happened this morning, but I’m fine. I’m fine.”

Hunter said he recently bought a pair of shoes that “might have been a little tight on the Achilles.”

Hunter said he played through the soreness until he left the game.

The outfielder sat out of Friday night’s game against the Phillies, but was back in action in Saturday’s 10-0 win.
