Before he went on to rewrite the NBA record books, Wilt Chamberlain was just as dominant in the college ranks.
A nearly 20-minute-long video posted to YouTube last week reaffirms that fact, taking viewers through the final five games of Chamberlain’s All-American sophomore season at Kansas. The video opens with the Big 7 championship game, showing Wilt the Stilt put up 40 points, 14 rebounds and 12 blocks in a win over Colorado, and continues through each game of the NCAA tournament.
The Jayhawks failed to capture the national championship, dropping the title game to North Carolina in triple overtime, but Chamberlain was unquestionably the best player on the floor throughout, averaging 30.3 points and 15.5 rebounds per game to earn tournament MVP honors.
