Braves fans lost Chipper Jones after the end of last season. The Twitter world lost him Monday.

Jones, who joined Twitter last July with a pretty awesome tweet, said Wednesday that he’s done using the site. Like any good communicator, he was sure to give his reasons: “hate” and “trolls.”

Now, it’s a little funny that Jones would be getting on people for trolling, because he used Twitter in every imaginable way — including some hardcore trolling — over the last year. There was that one time he ripped Angel Hernandez, that other time he said alligators should be used to keep immigrants out of America as well as his speculation about who shot John F. Kennedy.

Nonetheless, it’s a less fun world without Chipper on Twitter. Check out his farewell tweet below.
