It’s clear through the first two weeks of HBO’s Hard Knocks, which is chronicling the Cincinnati Bengals through training camp this year, that new Bengals linebacker James Harrison isn’t a fan of being on TV.
In the season’s first episode, cameras caught Harrison doing a radio interview in the Bengals locker room. Harrison was conducting the interview like a normal human being until he saw the cameras. Harrison then, rather rudely, started to turn around in his chair while turning his back on the interviewer. Harrison eventually referenced the cameras as the reason for his bizarre behavior.
Apparently he does have a pretty big problem with the HBO crew being around. Harrison, who has been painted as fairly anti-social through two episodes, blasted the fact that he has to deal with the cameras being around.
“I don’t feel they deserve to be here,” Harrison said, according to USA Today. “They did nothing to be here, other than want to be here. They didn’t put no blood, sweat and tears into none of this. All these men in here, they did that. They [the cameras] did nothing. No one deserves to see this, to come inside of this unless you’re a part of this. That’s why.”
