It was a rough offseason for not only the Patriots but the rest of the NFL when it came to off-field matters. Arrests and scandals abounded, with the most notable black eye coming in the form of an Aaron Hernandez murder charge.
The issues were far from unnoticed, and they easily made their way into mainstream media. It’s not about to go away anytime soon, either, as late-night TV host Jay Leno reminded everyone Wednesday night.
During a segment called “You’ve Been Warned,” Leno took a shot at the NFL — with the help of a Patriots helmet.
“To help [rookies] with their transition into the pros, the commissioner has put this warning on every rookie’s helmet: Must be removed when having mug shot taken,” he says while showing a Patriots helmet with the sticker on the back.
