LeBron JamesYeaaaaaaaah, Massachusetts. The Bay State is representing well.

Massachusetts got some love in a recent Business Insider survey that asked residents from all over America to match various superlatives with the different states. Those surveyed were not allowed to vote for their home state.

With categories like “best scenery,” “best sports fans” and “ugliest residents,” the results were sure to be fun, and they were — New Jersey cleaned up for “worst scenery,” while New York was judged “most arrogant.”

Massachusetts did well for itself. It bagged the “weirdest accent” category and the “smartest” distinction.

The state’s proudest moment, however, has to come with the “best sports fans” category. While Massachusetts does not appear to beat New York (no numbers are given — just shaded maps), New York also was the clear favorite for “worst sports fans.” Massachusetts is close enough to tying for first in the “best sports fans” category — and not rating high in the “worst sports fan” ranking — that maybe Red Sox/Bruins/Patriots/Celtics Nation can win on aggregate.
