Matt Harvey Pledges to Be Back, Ready for April 1 of Next Season

Matt HarveyThe baseball world was shocked to hear of Matt Harvey‘s devastating arm injury Monday. However, if the Mets pitcher is able to live up to his Tuesday pledge, he’ll downright floor the rest of baseball.

It was revealed Monday that Harvey suffered a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow. At the very least, he’ll need to be shut down for the rest of the 2013 season, and there’s a chance he will need Tommy John surgery. If going under the knife is necessary, it would be likely Harvey would miss most, if not all, of 2014.

However, Harvey is having none of that. Surgery isn’t a definite at this point, and maybe Harvey knows something we don’t. Either that, or he’s prepared for a superhuman rehab. He tweeted Tuesday afternoon that he’ll be ready to go on April 1.
