For the 2013-14 season, the NFL will be enforcing a new, stricter policy regarding bags that may bring into stadiums around the country. The Patriots are no exception and will be enforcing the policy beginning with Friday’s preseason game at Gillette Stadium against Tampa Bay.

In short, only clear or very small bags will be allowed into the stadium. The list of allowed bags, as described by the NFL, is below:

— Bags that are clear (see through) plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.”
— One-gallon clear (see through) plastic freezer bag or similar.
— Small clutch bags, not to exceed 7” x 4” x 2” (approximately the size of a hand), with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.

Additionally, clear plastic bags will be distributed to season ticket holders during the first couple of home games at Gillette. Compliant bags can also be purchased at eight locations around the stadium.
