Hudson Moms SpotlightFootball moms at one Ohio high school will be equipped with knowledge on the sidelines this fall.

Hudson High School football coach Ron Wright gave the moms a unique lesson when he put them in their sons’ shoes for a night. Wright hosted a football clinic for the mothers of the players on his football team earlier this week to familiarize them with the game, as reported by WEWS. About 50 moms took part in the classroom learning session, which was followed by an on-field component.

“It was scary and more complicated then I realized,”Connie Motter said.

The group was taught basic rules and terminology, and Wright explained different coaching strategies to help the moms get a firm grasp about exactly what it is that their children are asked to do on a weekly basis. Then, they took that knowledge to the field, where the mothers lined up in the positions that their sons play and wore their sons’ jerseys.

The experience was received well by the moms, who said they hope the event becomes a tradition at the school.
