FOXBORO, Mass. — There are 35 total Rutgers players in the league. Seventeen of them are on the field for the Patriots-Buccaneers joint practices.

The Rutgers connection runs deep with both teams. Bill Belichick began drafting former Scarlet Knights in 2010, when he picked Devin McCourty in the first round, and has not stopped since. Tampa Bay’s head coach is Rutgers’ former head coach, Greg Schiano.

After Wednesday’s joint practice, all 17 players joined to pose for a group photo. Check out Schiano, Tiquan Underwood, McCourty, Duron Harmon, Marvin Booker, Andrew DePaola, Gary Gibson, Kevin Haslam, Jeremy Zuttah, Justin Francis, Brian Leonard, Logan Ryan, Mason Robinson, Steve Beauharnais, Ka’lial Glaud, Brandon Jones, Tim Wright and Scott Vallone in the photo below. Amazingly there are at least two former Rutgers players missing from the photo: Patriots wide receiver Mark Harrison, who is on the NFI list, and Patriots coaching assistant Steve Belichick.
