The Patriots are just days away from cutting their roster down to the final 53 players, but they’re still taking a look at some free agents.

The Patriots worked out six players this week, including a pair of quarterbacks, likely taking inventory on players that could be on their radar, depending on the direction of the team’s final 53-man roster. The two quarterbacks were second-year player Nathan Stanley and undrafted rookie Clay Benton.

Stanley, who graduated from Southeastern Louisiana in 2012, went undrafted last year. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound quarterback transferred from Ole Miss after two seasons. He completed 54 percent of his passes and threw for 1,953 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions during his senior season at Southeastern Louisiana.

Belton, who measures in at 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, went undrafted out of the University of Findlay earlier this year. He completed 58 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,339 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions as a senior.

The Patriots also worked out second-year guard Chandler Burden of Kentucky, second-year wide receiver Jerrell Jackson from Missouri, second-year guard Desmond Wynn of Rutgers and undrafted rookie running back Robbie Rouse from Fresno State
