Paul Pierce Gets Rude Introduction to New York Traffic While Trying to Enter Holland Tunnel (Photo)

The days of Paul Pierce‘s 10-minute commute to practice are long gone.

Pierce, who once was able to zip to and from the Celtics’ practice facility at his leisure, will have a tougher time getting around as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. The traffic in Waltham, Mass., or even in the most congested parts of Boston has nothing on the traffic heading into the Holland Tunnel, either from the New York City or Jersey City, N.J., ends.

The new Nets forward discovered that the hard way on Wednesday, when he was caught in bumper-to-bumper gridlock trying to enter the tunnel. He even tweeted a photo from his driver’s seat, much like then-Celtic Jason Terry did while trying to head south through Cape Cod traffic last Labor Day.
