Clay Buchholz makes his second rehab start Friday night en route to his long-awaited return to the Red Sox roster, and the Sox are already shuffling things around to accommodate him in the starting rotation.
After serving his five-game suspension for hitting Alex Rodriguez with a pitch, Ryan Dempster‘s first start back in the rotation was pushed back by a few days. The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham said that it’s no coincidence that Dempster is getting his start on the same day that Buchholz makes his rehab start.
Hear more from Abraham about the thorough process behind the Red Sox’ decision in the video above.
