Report: Nelson Cruz, Jhonny Peralta Among 12 Players Who Have Accepted MLB’s 50-Game Suspensions

Nelson CruzWe still don’t know the fate of Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez for his alleged connections with the Biogenesis scandal, but there’s news on others allegedly involved.

FOXSports.com reports that 12 players have accepted 50-game suspensions from Major League Baseball. The suspensions have not been formally announced, but it was expected that they would come down at some point Monday.

According to the report, Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz and Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta were among those who have agreed to 50-game bans. Those are the biggest names on the report, two veteran players who will be free agents at the end of the season. There’s still no new news on Rodriguez, who is still fighting his potential suspension, according to reports.
