Robert Griffin III is such a classy guy that even his burns are polite.
The Redskins quarterback chatted with GQ for a story recently, and he was asked about former Washington passer Donovan McNabb, who has criticized Griffin’s off-field activities. Griffin sidestepped his chance at potshots but still made it clear what he thought about soliciting advice from McNabb, who was never that great with the Skins.
“I don’t think Donovan is an idiot by any means,” Griffin said, presumably addressing some comments made by people addressing McNabb’s comments. “But right now, it’s probably best we don’t talk.”
McNabb played the 2010 season in Washington after spending most of his career with the Eagles. He started 13 games, leading the team to a 5-8 record, and completed just 58.3 percent of his passes, racking up 3,377 yards, 14 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He also rushed 29 times for 151 yards.
Griffin, in his one season in Washington, started 15 games, completed 65.6 percent of his passes and threw for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He rushed 120 times for 815 yards, and his team went 10-6.
McNabb has criticized Griffin for drawing too much attention this offseason, especially while rehabbing from ACL surgery.
