Bruins winger Shawn Thornton is no stranger to using his fists to send a message, but he’s most comfortable doing so on the ice. If you put him in the octagon, however, he thinks it could be a totally different story.

The Boston enforcer was at the UFC Homecoming event Wednesday night in Boston, in advance of UFC Fight Night 26, which will take over TD Garden on Saturday night. The warriors of the octagon will be doing combat where Thornton usually drops the gloves. If you were to switch the roles, however, Thornton doesn’t like either side’s chances.

“I think on the ice, they would have as good of a chance as I would in the octagon, which is probably zero,” he said at the Homecoming event.

See the video below for Thornton’s comments, as well as UFC president Dana White‘s thoughts about returning to Boston and helping out when it comes to charity.
