There’s nothing like some good old market research, especially when it looks favorably upon some of NESN’s longtime talent.
Between Aug. 1 and 17, Channel Media & Market Research conducted an online poll to learn a little bit more about what makes New England sports fans tick. The poll, which included nearly 13,500 respondents, not only covers the area’s teams and fans’ proclivities, but also the media that covers those teams.
Tom Caron was voted “favorite local TV sports personality” in the poll. That vote excluded play-by-play announcers, and was actually a write-in vote, so that gives a little extra credence to the pick.
Likewise, Don Orsillo was voted “favorite play-by-play announcer/color analyst.” Like the TV sports personality vote, this was also a write-in.
So, when it comes to media, NESN seems to have a special place in the heart of New Englanders.
