Most of the time, it’s NFL players losing — or selling — their Super Bowl rings that draw the headlines. This time, Vikings linebacker Desmond Bishop is looking for his jersey from the big game.

Bishop started at linebacker for the Green Bay Packers when they won Super Bowl XLV, but a recent robbery at his home has left him without his cherished game jersey. The 29-year-old tweeted about the robbery on Sunday, even noting his displeasure that the investigating officer assigned to the case decided to go on vacation.

Bishop has enough to worry about as it is, considering he’s in a hotly contested battle for a roster spot with the likes of veteran linebackers Marvin Mithell and Tyrone McKenzie. He isn’t a leading candidate to land the job as of now, either, running with mainly the second- and third-team defense to this point in the preseason. So, he certainly doesn’t need a police investigation hanging over his head — never mind opening a personal investigation of his own.

Maybe it’s time he shifts his attention away from eBay and back to his playbook. Let the professional handle it — well, if he ever returns from vacation.
