Xander BogaertsThe Red Sox opened their nine-game homestand Tuesday night in a big way.

Shane Victorino led the way with two home runs and a career-high seven RBIs in a 13-2 victory over the Orioles in the series opener. The Red Sox came out swinging, and they look to do the same Tuesday night sending out almost the identical lineup, with one sensational rookie marking the only change.

He may have had to wait a day, but Xander Bogaerts will make his much-anticipated home debut Wednesday night against right-hander Bud Norris. Since his promotion to the big leagues, the 20-year-old has started two games, appeared in two others as a pinch hitter and gone 3-for-9, hitting .333.

Norris will square off against Red Sox starter John Lackey. Lackey’s last outing was an impressive one as he twirled an eight-inning gem, but the right-hander, who has been one of Boston’s most consistent starters, has only recorded one win since the All-Star break mostly due to a lack of run support.

Run support wasn’t an issue last night as the Red Sox cruised to an easy victory, and the Sox will look to repeat that performance tonight.
