Alex Rodriguez leapfrogged a Yankees legend Friday night.
The third baseman took San Francisco’s George Kontos deep with the bases loaded for his 24th career grand slam, breaking the major league record set by Lou Gehrig way back in 1938.
Though many around baseball have questioned the fact that he is even in uniform after being dealt a historic suspension stemming from the Biogenesis investigation, Rodriguez has put up decent numbers during his brief 2013 campaign. After the grand slam, A-Rod is hitting .261 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs in 40 games.
