The Alex Rodriguez drama has died down as of late, but it will pick right back up toward the end of September.
The Yankees third baseman’s appeal of his 211-game suspension is scheduled to begin Sept. 30 — the day after the regular season ends.
The Yanks are currently three games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for the second wild card spot in the American League, but if the team is able to squeak their way into the postseason, the hearing will be rescheduled, according to ESPNNewYork.com
Major League Baseball and Rodriguez will present their sides of the case to arbitrator Fredric Horowitz, who will then have 25 days to decide whether to lessen, overturn or uphold his penalty for his involvement with the Biogenesis clinic and for violating baseball’s Joint Drug Agreement with the players association, according to Newsday.
The decision will reportedly not be announced until after the World Series.
