Brian Orakpo Calls Out Announcers, Says They ‘Suck’ for Mispronouncing Name During Redskins Game (Video)

Brain Orakpo‘s name was called almost endlessly during the Redskins’ win over the Raiders on Sunday. Unfortunately it wasn’t always the right name.

Orakpo managed four tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, a couple passes defensed and a handful of quarterback pressures in the 24-14 victory. Yet, it seemed that every time FOX announcer Dick Stockton went to note the linebacker’s stellar play he referred to him as “Orapko.” The mispronunciation irked the two-time Pro Bowler.

“Well, they suck for doing that,” Orakpo said when told of the mistake during a postgame interview.

Orakpo, 27, is enjoying quite a rebound season after missing almost all of 2012 with a torn pectoral muscle. He already has 17 tackles and three sacks on the season.

If Stockton and the rest of the league’s announcers don’t know Orakpo’s name yet, they’ll be sure to learn it soon enough.

Check out Orakpo’s reaction to the mispronunciation and the win in the video below.
