Canada’s Olympic Hockey Jerseys Potentially Leak, May Be as Ugly as USA’s (Photo)

All of those Canadian hockey fans who ripped Team USA’s ridiculous Olympic uniforms may have spoken too soon.

A photo surfaced Thursday of Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews wearing what appears to be Team Canada’s sweater for the 2014 Games in Sochi, and it’s pretty laughable itself.

The red jersey features a wide, horizontal white stripe across the chest and one — only one — of the sleeves with a Canadian maple leaf superimposed inside it. The strange, fake lacing from the U.S. jersey pops up on this one, too, as do the shiny designs that cover the shoulders (these appear to be maple leafs, compared to Team USA’s stars).

The photo, which was taken during the 2013 NHL Player Media Tour, appears on the Getty Images website and was first dug up by Reddit user “rollhr.” Toews doesn’t look particularly pleased with the situation, but everyone can agree that his shoot turned out much better than Phil Kessel‘s.
