Clay Matthews said this week that he’s not a “dirty” player, and pointed to his “good resume” as proof of that.

The Packers linebacker had only been fined once in his five-year career for an on-field incident, but as of Friday, he’s got some more extra-curricular activities to add to that resume. Matthews was fined $15,000 by the NFL for a questionable hit last Sunday on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The tackle was high and was made after Kaepernick had already scrambled out-of-bounds with the ball. Officially, Matthews was fined for “striking an opponent late,” according to ESPN Wisconsin.

Matthews was informed of the fine on Thursday, before it became public, and went on to tell reporters that day, “I’m an awesome player, I’m not a dirty player.”
