Danny AmendolaFOXBORO, Mass. — Danny Amendola was spotted during the portion of Patriots’ practice open to the media, but judging by how he looked out on the field, one has to wonder why he was out there at all.

Amendola was walking and running gingerly with his groin injury. It even looked like he was not wearing his normal shoes out on the field.

If there is a positive to take away from Amendola being on the practice field, it’s that he may not need surgery for a sports hernia. Reports came out that the receiver was going to get a second opinion on his injury because there was a chance it was a sports hernia. If it were severe, he would need surgery and miss around four weeks.
