David Krejci Leaves Morning Skate With Back Spasms, Questionable for Bruins’ Game Against Jets

The Bruins’ final preseason game Friday night was supposed to be a dress rehearsal for many of the club’s regulars, but it sounds like at least one of the club’s most important players might not be in the lineup.

Center David Krejci left Friday’s morning skate in Saskatoon early with what the team is calling back spasms. The back issues may cause Krejci to miss the preseason finale against the Winnipeg Jets, and he is currently being viewed as questionable for the game.

Krejci’s injury could set the table for Ryan Spooner to get a look with the club’s first line. It wouldn’t necessarily be foreign territory for Spooner. He was called up last season and saw time in four games centering the first line after Krejci suffered a leg injury. Spooner is one of the handful of players fighting for just a couple of roster spots, and this would be his final time to build on what’s been a really good training camp and preseason.
