The high school football season has already produced a number of incredible, game-ending plays, but this one may be the craziest of them all.

In a game between two Washington state rivals last Friday, Columbia River High trailed Skyview High 24-23 with seven seconds remaining. The Chieftains’ 32-yard field goal attempt was blocked, and, thinking that the game was over, Skyview players and fans alike began to storm onto the field.

What Skyview failed to notice, however, was that the ball never crossed the line of scrimmage, thus making the play still live. As the defenders sprinted toward the sideline, Columbia River’s Reese Keller scooped up the ball and galloped into the end zone to cap a stunning 29-24 win.
