Tim Tebow, Justin TrattouFollowing another loss and even more disappointment at the quarterback position in Week 2, Jaguars fans have had enough of their team’s woeful ways. Now, they’re taking matters into their own hands to try to turn things around.

Jaguars fans are holding a rally outside Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville on Monday afternoon in an effort to convince the team to sign quarterback and Florida native Tim Tebow, according to ESPN. The rally is scheduled to begin at 3:16 p.m. and last for three hours and 16 minutes, recognizing Bible verse John 3:16, which Tebow wrote on his eye black for the Florida Gators’ appearance in the 2009 national championship game.

Tebow has been a local favorite since leading the Gators to two national titles and winning the Heisman trophy while playing in Gainesville. He hasn’t had similar success in the NFL, though. After failing to stick with the Denver Broncos, New York Jets and most recently the New England Patriots, Tebow is on the free agent market, leading Jags fans to seek out the former first-round pick.

The Jaguars have started a different quarterback in each game this season. Blaine Gabbert, a 2011 first-round pick, completed just 16 of 35 passes for 121 yards with two interceptions in Week 1 before a cut on his hand forced him out of the game. Veteran Chad Henne looked better than Gabbert, at least on paper, in Week 2, completing 25 of 38 passes for 241 yards and one touchdown, but the two quarterbacks have still combined to score 11 total points (two in Week 1, nine in Week 2) in their two losses this season.

Some local fans have even started a website, Jags-Tebow.com, dedicated to signing the former Florida standout. At this point, almost anything would probably look like an improvement to Jaguars fans.

Update: Not a whole lot of people showed up to the “rally.” You could count the number on two hands. Check it out in the video below.
