John Lackey Not Upset About Lack of Run Support, Says ‘Boys Want to Give Me Some Runs’ (Video)

The Red Sox can’t seem to put any runs on the board when John Lackey takes the mound, but the right-hander has no hard feelings about the tough luck he’s endured.

Monday’s outing marked the sixth time Boston’s offense has been shut out with Lackey pitching, but Lackey says he understands that his teammates are “grinding,” and manager John Farrell says the offensive drought he’s experienced just means a lot of runs are coming his way soon.

Check out the video above to hear what else Lackey had to say about his latest start.
