Kelly OlynykKelly Olynyk can cover a lot of ground with his 7-foot frame, and his $2 million salary this year can cover the lease on whatever luxury automobile he chooses.

For at least one day, anyway, he will join the unwashed masses taking public transit.

Olynyk will ride the Green Line with Massachusetts transportation secretary Richard Davey to encourage use of public transportation by fans, especially to and from TD Garden. Olynyk’s ride will take him from Kenmore to North Station, according to the Celtics.

Olynyk and Davey are both Gonzaga alums. Olynyk is a member of the class of 2013. Davey graduated from Gonzaga Law in 1999.
