Kyle Arrington, Mike WilliamsFOXBORO, Mass. — Midway through the third quarter of the Patriots-Buccaneers game, Kyle Arrington disappeared from the base and nickel defense, replaced by rookie Logan Ryan.

Since Sunday, Arrington’s absence had been a mystery. It was possible Arrington was sidelined due to injury, performance or just to give a rookie some time in the defense with a big lead. Arrington’s presence on kickoff coverage further clouded any explanation behind his sidelining.

We may now have our answer. Arrington was listed as limited on the Patriots’ injury report on Wednesday with a groin injury. When asked about being sidelined, Arrington to responded with a smile saying, “Check the game tape.”

Danny Amendola (groin), Brandon Bolden (knee), Marquice Cole (hamstring), Nate Ebner (ankle), Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm), Jerod Mayo (ankle), Will Svitek (knee) and Leon Washington (thigh) were also listed as limited participants.

Matthew Slater (wrist) and Sebastian Vollmer (foot) did not participate in practice. Zach Sudfeld (hamstring) and Vince Wilfork (foot) were full participants.
