The Orioles will remember this trip to Tampa Bay for all the wrong reasons.

Both Manny Machado and Alexi Casilla left with injuries, and the O’s dropped farther out of the AL wild-race.

“It was a tough four days, and it culminated in a lot of bad stuff today,” Brian Roberts told The Associated Press. “The losses and the injuries and feeling like we had a good chance coming into Tampa, to walk out with this kind of feeling is tough for everybody.”

Both Machado’s and Casilla’s injuries happened in the seventh inning. Machado’s left leg buckled running to first base, and he had to be taken off on a stretcher. Casilla collided with right fielder Nick Markakis while chasing a single. He left with a head injury.

“I’m sure we won’t get a full diagnosis until we get an MRI back in Baltimore [on Tuesday],” manager Buck Showalter said. “It certainly doesn’t look very promising right now.”

“It’s horrible,” Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. “Hate to see that. This young man blows out his knee, possibly, and then this collision in right field. You can see how badly they wanted it, too.”
