Maryland’s New ‘Pride’ Uniforms Feature Hand-Painted Helmets, Superman Undershirts (Photos)

Maryland has raised the bar in college football’s never-ending game of uniform one-upmanship.

The red, black, yellow and white of the Maryland state flag have always been hallmarks of Terrapins unis, but the flag’s patterns have become more and more prevalent since the Terps debuted their infamous “Pride” uniforms back in 2011.

This season’s edition, announced Thursday by Under Armour, isn’t quite as loud its predecessor, but it includes one new wrinkle that has never been seen before. The helmets will again feature the state flag, but these ones will be individually hand-painted, creating a textured look and assuring that no two will be exactly alike.

Check out the full uni set, which will also include a Superman-inspired undershirt, in the photos below.
