Mike Napoli Gets Rest After Huge Series, Stephen Drew Back at Shortstop in Series Finale Against Yankees

Stephen Drew, Jonny GomesMike Napoli has been absolutely smashing the ball of late, especially this weekend against the Yankees.

The Red Sox’ slugger hit two home runs on Saturday, one on Friday and has driven in eight runs in the Sox’ three wins in New York already this weekend. On Sunday, the team decided to give Napoli a much-needed rest, starting Mike Carp in his place at first base.

After a day off on Saturday, both catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and shortstop Stephen Drew are back in the lineup for the Sox, though, ready to face Yankees right-hander Hiroki Kuroda. Daniel Nava is back in right field for the Sox, replacing Shane Victorino, and will hit in the leadoff spot on Sunday.
