76ers Bynum BasketballHere’s an absolute shocker: It looks unlikely that Andrew Bynum will be ready for the start of training camp this season.

Bynum, who missed all of last season with the Philadelphia 76ers as a result of injuries to both knees, is “nowhere near ready” to returning and is likely to miss the entire preseason, FOX Sports reports. The Cleveland Cavaliers are said to not be concerned, as they signed Bynum this summer with the understanding his rehabilitation would be gradual.

The Cavs inked Bynum to a low-risk contract this summer that, if Bynum is healthy, could catapult the team into the Eastern Conference finals picture. Knowing Bynum’s history, however, nobody in Cleveland is holding their breath.

Bynum previously said he was on schedule in his recovery, although he admitted he had “no idea” what that schedule is.
