Josh Freeman, Doug MartinThe Patriots may need to prepare for two starting quarterbacks in Week 3.

Current starter Josh Freeman is expected to request a trade from the Buccaneers prior to this season’s trade deadline, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. La Canfora reports tension has been brewing between Freeman and his head coach, Greg Schiano, for some time.

Tampa Bay drafted Mike Glennon in the third round of this year’s NFL draft. La Canfora reports Glennon is viewed as “Schiano’s guy” within the organization.

The Buccaneers come to Foxboro next Sunday to take on the Patriots. If Glennon is starting, he will be the third straight rookie quarterback New England will face to start the season.
