Report: Patriots Work Out David Nelson, Three Other Wide Receivers, Four Defensive Backs

David NelsonFOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots brought a former AFC East foe in for a workout.

Former Buffalo Bill and Florida Gator David Nelson came to Foxboro for a tryout, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post. Nelson spent the summer with the Cleveland Browns. He tore his ACL at the beginning of last season.

New England also worked out wide receivers Jared Green, Sam McGuffie and Terrence Toliver, along with defensive backs Myron Lewis, Jalil Brown, DeQuan Menzie and Peyton Thompson.

Nelson caught 94 passes for 1,042 yards and eight touchdowns in 32 games with the Bills. He caught eight passes for 107 yards in three games against the Patriots.
