Rob Gronkowski‘s timetable remains uncertain, but what is certain is that he will not take the field against the Bills on Sunday.

The Patriots tight end was listed as doubtful after taking part in practice all week as a limited participant, but NFL.com’s Albert Breer reported that Gronkowski didn’t travel with the team to Buffalo, eliminating what little chance there was that he would be return to game action in the regular season opener. The Patriots have also ruled out running back Brandon Bolden, wide receiver Aaron Dobson, safeties Nate Ebner and Duron Harmon and tackle Will Svitek ahead of Sunday’s game, according to Nick Underhill of MassLive.com.

Gronkowski is recovering from offseason surgeries on his back and forearm, and while he is progressing, it remains likely that his return will come in Week 3.
