Sebastian VollmerSebastian Vollmer was nowhere to be found when the Patriots’ offense took the field in the second half, and his absence appears to be injury-related.

Vollmer was not spotted in the locker room after the Patriots 23-3 win, but he was seen leaving Gillette Stadium in a walking boot, according to CSNNE’s Mike Giardi. Third-year offensive lineman Marcus Cannon replaced Vollmer and played well in his stead during the second half.

There was no indication as to when in the game Vollmer actually injured the foot, but it likely occurred late in the second quarter as he played almost the entire first half.

The 6-foot-8, 320-pound right tackle is a key part of an already thin Patriots offensive line. Losing Vollmer for any amount of time would be a significant loss for Tom Brady up front, especially as they face a tough road with trips to Atlanta and Cincinnati followed by a visit from the Saints ahead on their schedule.
