They New York Yankees are attempting to do a little bit of damage control after Mariano Rivera bobblehead night on Tuesday.

Thousands of fans showed up early to the gates at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday to get their collectible Rivera bobblehead. The only issue was that the statuettes hadn’t arrived in New York by game time, so fans were instead given a voucher to receive the freebie at a later date.

On Wednesday, sports business guru Darren Rovell tweeted that the team would attempt to make amends to those fans inconvenienced by the whole fiasco with an offer of free tickets to a game in 2014. Fans who are not season ticket-holders will be able to redeem the consolation prize with a ticket stub from Tuesday night’s game.
